Orange County Public Safety has a staff of EMT certified instructors for BLS (Healthcare Provider), CPR, AED and First Aid. We provide personalized instruction at your convenience at any location. The classes are taught by experienced instructors applying the hands-on approach ensuring "Real Life" situations are reviewed and addressed. This is a key factor in one persons ability to retain what they have been taught and apply in the event they need to!
We offer a variety of AHA (American Heart Association) training and certification classes. The classes range from CPR for the general public (non healthcare provider), to CPR for Healthcare Providers in addition to First Aid and Emergency Response Training. There are several standard classes available but courses can be tailored to meet specific requirements of the audience such as Babysitters, Boys and Girls Scout troops, etc.

BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider Course
The BLS Healthcare Provider course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals with the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. The course is intended for certified or non-certified, licensed or non-licensed healthcare professionals.
Intended Audience: Healthcare providers, such as physician's, nurses, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapists, physician's assistants, medical or nursing students in training, aides, medical or nursing assistants, police officers and other allied health personnel.

Certification, 2yrs
Heartsaver CPR / AED
This course is for the general public to learn CPR and all related components. Heartsaver CPR teaches how to recognize and treat life-threatening emergencies with an adult, child, and infant victims. Medical emergencies such as choking, drowning, heart-related emergencies, rescue breathing, basics of performing compressions, and use of Automated External Defibrillator (AED) are all covered in this course.

Heartsaver CPR/AED with First Aid
This course has all the components of the Heartsaver CPR/AED course with additional material that covers first aid.

BLS Healthcare Provider Course Re-Certification or Skills
AHA online certificate (original) must be surrendered at the time of skills exam.

Heartsaver First Aid
The Heartsaver First Aid course provides training in basic first-aid procedures- including the first-aid skills recommended by OSHA- in a format that is easily understood and presented. It also offers elective modules in environmental emergencies.
Its highly effective video-based instruction format enables students to experience case-based scenarios in a realistic setting. Instructors introduce a topic, and then show a video segment to present cases for discussion or to demonstrate a particular skill. topics that are covered include burns, cuts, imbedded objects, snake bites, heat and cold related emergencies, seizures, asthma attacks, poisoning, splinting, etc. Handouts explaining first aid emergencies are given at each class.
The Heartsaver First Aid course is especially designed to train anyone who might be the first to respond in the workplace or community, and can be tailored to address the needs of specific workplace or group of employees.

Family & Friends
The Family & Friends course addresses: recognition and emergency resuscitation techniques for heart attack, cardiac arrest, stroke and choking in adults; prevention of injuries and cardiac arrest; recognition and treatment of choking in infants and children. This course does not require certification and testing.

All classes are scheduled based on instructor availability. Calendered classes are subject to cancellation due to insufficient enrollment. However, mobile instructors are available to conduct on-site training classes at your place of business and or residence.
